Gabon ratified the OPCAT in September 2010 and discussions are ongoing in the country regarding the establishment of a new specialised institution as the future NPM.
The Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture visited Gabon in December 2013. The SPT visit report was made public.
The SPT member Radhia Nasraoui is the SPT Focal Point for Gabon.
