The APT is undertaking a three-year project in Thailand to raise awareness of fundamental safeguards that can reduce the risk of torture. Although these rights are enshrined in Thai law, baseline research conducted by the APT has shown that they are often not respected and implemented. Collaborating with a range of partners, our team is raising awareness of these safeguards as well as actively supporting Thailand’s Ministry of Justice to implement the safeguards.
