Valentina Cadelo

SENIOR ADVISER, LAW AND ADVOCACY

Valentina Cadelo is Senior Adviser, Law and Advocacy at APT, leading its legal and advocacy work on torture prevention. Before joining the APT, Valentina worked extensively on human rights, criminal law and transitional justice issues for various NGOs and international institutions, including the International Commission of Jurists, Impunity Watch, the International Institute of Humanitarian Law and the Appeals Chamber of both the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.  She was also a researcher, teaching assistant and academic coordinator at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. Valentina holds an LL.M. in International Humanitarian Law from the Geneva Academy and a MAS in International Relations with a specialisation in international law from the University of Florence in Italy. She speaks French, English and Italian.
