Marie Lequin is the Head of Operations, where she oversees APT’s operations, working closely with partners around the world to advance torture prevention efforts globally. A member of the APT leadership team, Marie brings over 20 years of experience leading human rights and humanitarian programmes in complex and sensitive environments. Her background spans strategic leadership roles with organisations such as Geneva Call, UNICEF, Search for Common Ground, and Intersos. Marie has worked in a wide range of countries. In her previous role as Head of Region at Geneva Call, she managed multi-country operations in conflict settings and engaged in humanitarian diplomacy with armed actors. Holding a Master of Advanced Studies in International Law in Armed Conflict from the Geneva Academy, Marie has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting the dignity and rights of people affected by armed violence, displacement, and deprivation of liberty. She is fluent in English and French.
