Luce Ahouangnimon

SENIOR ADVISER, DETENTION

Luce Ahouangnimon is Senior Advisor, Detention at the APT where she focuses on practical and thematic issues related to detention, including the implementation and monitoring of safeguards with relevant stakeholders. Luce is also the APT focal point on issues around racial and ethnic discrimination and torture, and torture and ill-treatment in the context of protests. Before joining the APT, she worked on human rights and conflict-related sexual violence at the UN peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and in Mali. Luce holds an MA in International Relations from the University of Aberdeen and an LLM in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights from the Geneva Academy. A bi-national of France and Benin, she speaks French and English.
