The Principles on Effective Interviewing aim to modify police practices by replacing coercive interrogations with rapport-based interviews.

The Méndez Principles support investigators, safeguard those interviewed and promote justice. 

They assist practitioners and law enforcement agents, and many institutions have already expressed their support to the Principles.
