Lebanon was the first country in the Middle East and North Africa to ratify the Optional Protocol to the UN Convention Against Torture in December 2010. In 2016, a law creating a new Institution acting both as National Human Rights Institution and as National Preventive Mechanism was adopted. We provide assistance to the members in the crucial phase of establishment.
