Romania

We have an ongoing partnership with the National Preventive Mechanism of Romania and aim to support it to strengthen its capacity to monitor places of detention effectively. We have organised trainings with the prevention body’s staff on detention monitoring and on monitoring of psychiatric institutions. Part of this work is also designed to build bridges between the body and other institutions in Romania, to ensure a positive working relationship.
