We have worked with the Public Defender’s Office, which acts as Georgia’s National Preventive Mechanism, to strengthen its capacity on monitoring of police custody. In particular, sessions have been undertaken to support the implementation of torture prevention in the early stages of detention across the country. We continue to work closely with the Public Defender’s Office.
