Our work in Indonesia has focused on achieving ratification of the Optional Protocol to the Convention Against Torture, stalled for several years, and the designation of a National Preventive Mechanism. Advocacy efforts are ongoing, while national human rights organisations continue to be trained through workshops. By following this strategy, the groundwork is being lain for a successful and well-organised National Preventive Mechanism, once ratification is achieved.
