The APT supports the efforts of the Ministry of Justice of Morocco to enhance awareness about the Convention against Torture among Moroccan judiciary and law enforcement, namely through supporting the drafting of the Ministry of Justice guide on the issue. The draft of this publication was discussed in a workshop in Rabat organized by the project partners on 8 - 9 December 2010.

Approximately 25 Moroccan experts discussed issues such as the definition of torture and other cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment and punishment, the absolute nature of this prohibition, safeguards against torture, investigation of torture allegations, protection of victims and state obligation’s to provide compensation and redress.
