APT submits comments to the European Parliament on human rights strategy

The APT has written to Members of the European Parliament to encourage them to sponsor a robust and effective EU policy on human rights, and particularly on torture prevention.
EU actions against torture should acknowledge that there exists a risk of torture or ill treatment everywhere, including in the EU and that equal attention and efforts should be given to internal EU policies, as well as external policies on the matter.
