The APT and New Tactics for Human Rights

Monday, November 9, 2009

From 18 - 24 November the APT will participate in the New Tactics on-line dialogue featuring 'Training Law Enforcement for Prevention of Ill-Treatment and Torture'. An APT team of four staff and board members will join law enforcement professionals, torture prevention organizations and torture treatment and rehabilitation programs from around the world in this week-long on-line discussion. Other participants include ACET Bulgaria, Amnesty International-Dutch Section, Essex University’s Human Rights Centre, IRCT and TRC Palestine.

The New Tactics in Human Rights Project, which is coordinated by the Center for Victims of Torture in Minnesota, promotes tactical innovation and strategic thinking within the international human rights community. Its on-line dialogues encourage communication between different persons and organizations in order to share information and tactics on a wide range of human rights issues.
