Bolivia - OPCAT Situation

Updated 23.05.2013

Bolivia ratified the OPCAT in 2006 and it has not designated its NPM yet. In its report to the Committee against Torture (March 2012), Bolivia indicated that consultations have taken place in the country on a draft NPM proposal.

The SPT visited Bolivia in September 2010 and the government sent a reply to the SPT almost a year later. Both documents are still confidential.

The SPT member Emilio Ginés Santidrian is the SPT Focal Point for Bolivia.
