Burkina Faso - OPCAT Situation

Burkina Faso was the 7th African State to ratify the OPCAT, by depositing its instrument of ratification with the UN in 2010. Nevertheless, the NPM has not been designated yet.
Ongoing discussions suggest that the National Human Rights Commission could be appointed as NPM, following amendments to its legislation.
The SPT member Olivier Obrecht is the SPT Focal Point for Burkina Faso.
